What career did you want for yourself when you were in high school? My senior year, I took a a photography elective. It was so amazing, that I knew that is what I wanted to do. As I excitedly told my parents about my new plan, I was met by the abrupt statement from my father – “You need to know someone to make it in that business. I don’t know anyone, so you are probably better off finding a more solid career.” Hmmmm… obviously not what I wanted to hear, but at the time truthful nonetheless. I went to college, received a degree in Accounting, but never stopped loving to take pictures. I live for documenting my life in pictures, and that’s why I am smitten by the camera features on the BlackBerry Z10.
My husband is a huge college basketball fan, and more specifically a fan of the Syracuse Orangemen. Given the Final Four was here in Atlanta, I basically forced him to buy tickets. I felt he would regret not being able to be there live if they made it to the Final Four. Syracuse did make it, and I was happy to have the BlackBerry Z10 handy to capture the experience. Using the powerful 5X Enhanced Super Resolution Digital Zoom I was able to capture some great moments, even though our seats were in the rafters.
The 8 megapixel auto-focus camera was awesome for capturing the immense crowd. I loved being able to edit and apply fun filters right after taking them, and without opening a filter app. The energy was crazy in the stadium, and I couldn’t resist live tweeting my photos!
Using the 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera I can easily snap pictures with ME in them! There is nothing worse for me, than never being in the photos. it’s been a while since I participated in the Mommy and Me Monday series, but it’s something I need to get back to doing. I want pictures of the whole family, not just individuals, and yes, that includes pictures of me AND my husband!
When we went down for the pre-game festivities, I even recorded some video of the team practices. I told you, DH is a HUGE fan. The 1080p HD video recording capabilities did not disappoint in the least. I think he has watched the mini videos no less than 50 times reliving the fun we had that day with the kids. Seriously. Who doesn’t have fun when you get to meet mascots and see your favorite coach of all time up close and personal. I’m not sure who had the biggest smile that day.
Since the BlackBerry Z10 is equipped with Back Side Illumination for better low-light performance, I was easily able take a clear picture in the darkened movie theater at the Monster’s University premiere with the Disney team. Even in low light, I know I will never miss a shot.
Think you will take too many pictures and fill up your phone? No need to worry about that because the BlackBerry Z10 has a removable microSD memory card slot under battery door! You can slide in a card up to 32 GB. That is a lot of pictures! And with the USB 2.0 high speed port, off loading all those pictures is a breeze. My Z10 is also equipped with BlackBerry® Tag with NFC technology that allows me to tap and share pictures with any friend and an NFC-enabled device.
Overall, I cannot praise the camera features on the BlackBerry Z10 any higher. Even my slow to adapt to change husband used the camera with ease. I’m hoping the experience may finally convince him to swap his current dinosaur flip phone for a smartphone, but only time will tell.
