There is nothing more refreshing than an icy cold glass of fresh lemonade on a warm Summer evening. Making fresh lemonade with Equal® 0-Calorie Sweetener, I can relax and enjoy the sweet and tangy combination guilt free. Chef Chris Smith, The Diabetic Chef®, took this fab lemonade recipe to the next level combining bubbly sparkling water and fresh, frozen blackberries.
I’m all about the tingly bubbles in this recipe. I find myself adding sparkling water to mixed drinks all the time for a little extra pizzazz. I also like that I can eliminate extra calories in my day by substituting Equal in my favorite beverages. My favorite is the Equal Spoonful that measures cup for cup, like sugar. If you need 1 teaspoon of sugar, simply measure 1 teaspoon of Equal Spoonful. There are no confusing conversions to worry about. Plus the resealable top helps makes storage simple. What is your favorite way to add some zing to fresh lemonade?
- 1½ Cups sparkling water
- ½ Cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1½ Tbsp Equal Spoonful or 4 packets Equal sweetener
- 12 fresh blackberries, frozen
- Ice, as needed
- Fresh mint sprigs and lemon slices, optional
- Stir sparkling water, lemon juice and Equal until combined.
- Place 6 blackberries and ice cubes in each of 2 tall glasses.
- Divide mixture between the glasses and serve.
- Garnish each glass with mint and fresh lemon slices, if desired.
