Spring in the south can be hit or miss. The weather can get too hot and humid to enjoy the outdoors very quickly. So far this year, it has either been raining or perfect spring temperatures. No question which condition I prefer, and when the weather cooperates, all I want to do is cook dinner on the grill. Over 65 years ago, Char-Broil brought the first charcoal grill to market, and this makes me one happy cook. I think everything from vegetables to these delicious Mexican Sliders taste better when cooked over the perfect mix of black, gray and glowing coals in the fab new Char-Broil Kettleman Grill.

Char-Broil’s new Kettleman 22.5” Charcoal Grill (MSRP $129), is the brand’s innovation offering improved ease of use and improved kettle-style and temperature control.  The combination of a larger cool-touch damper  and multiple vents around the body of the kettle allow air to circulate. More air fueling your coals creates a more evenly heated environment inside the kettle and on the cooking surface.

When your coals attain the proper heat, you can move the coals to one side of the lower grill grate. This will give you an area offering high heat so you are able to sear the sliders. A nice caramelization on the outside will help the burgers stay nice and juicy. The porcelain coated no-fall-through grate of the new Kettleman 22.5” Charcoal Grill offers greater security for your smaller foods so they won’t fall through into the coals, while still absorbing the amazing charcoal flavor.  So go ahead and toss on your vegetable side while you cook your burgers.

Once the sliders have a nice sear, you can move them to the side of the grate where there are no coals. The area with no coals is still very hot, and it will allow your burgers to continue to cook thoroughly with indirect heat.  The Kettleman also has a hinged, latching lid that is more convenient than having to put the grill lid back and forth on the ground when you are moving food around the grate.

Char-Broil’s new Kettleman 22.5” Charcoal Grill is available for purchase at Lowe’s or online at www.charbroil.com. You can check out the grill’s wide stance, superior stability and learn more about the Kettleman grill and see many more features here. It’s sure to make your next outdoor grill-a-thon a breeze.
