This past Saturday while it was 80 degrees and sunny outside, I took Baby to a birthday party at an ice skating rink.
I snapped this picture of her with two friends out on the ice. It was so cute.
Later in the evening we were looking at the pictures together and I said,
“Awww…look. Here you are hugging your friends”.
I was quickly corrected.
“Mommy. We were not hugging.
We were telling each other we wouldn’t fall.”
Wow.
What an adorable, but simple example of support by three six year olds. All they needed was each other. Each of them gave and received the confidence to succeed.
This moment proved to me, that not only do we continuously teach our children, but even at a young age, they can teach us in return.
What’s the latest lesson you found your child teaching you lately?
6 year olds rock!
They teach me to expect the unexpected.. LOL!
Such a sweet little moment that you captured.
Latest thing was that William taught me about what he does with books:

Grace taught me that there is nothing better that playing outside in the sunshine with a friend and a jump rope:

And Jordan, well, she’s asked me to blog very little about her anymore. She still teaches me so much each day. Love that teenager!
Precious photo and such a great story to go with it. Isn’t it great to have a blog so that you know you will always have this moment recorded?
Wow, that is really sweet. My son just turned 7 and sometimes how his brain works just amazes me.
That is too cute! I would have sworn they were hugging too! The latest lesson that my son taught me was to always carry my keys when I walk out of the house. Yeah…nothing like the cuteness of your post! Hehehe!
It looks like everyone is learning lessons from their young ones!
We all must be doing something right as parents! 🙂
