Catch The Excitement Come Visit and @DiscoverAtlanta! #BlogATL14

Last weekend I had the privilege to attend the third annual Experience Atlanta Parent Blogger Expo hosted by the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB). This unique event in an interactive, trade show-style event that allows parent bloggers to mix and mingle with numerous Public Relations representatives from Atlanta’s numerous family-friendly attractions, venues, and activities. I want other families to come Visit and Discover Atlanta! It’s an amazing city!

We kicked off the two day event with a complimentary cocktail gathering to mix and mingle hosted by the ACVB at the delicious Ruth’s Chris Steak House located in the Embassy Suites Centennial Olympic Park. The food was excellent, signature cocktails tasty, and the company was lovely. It’s on the rare occasion I can get together with my fellow bloggers and actually hold a conversation. I completely enjoyed the adult focused evening.

The next morning I was up bright and early heading to Turner Field. The Parent Blogger Expo was being held at the park’s luxurious 755 Club starting with a continental breakfast overlooking the famous field. What a gorgeous view to start the day!

I headed over to the Expo area and were greeted by an amazing number of participants this year and some playful characters as well. This is my third year attending this event and every year it exceeds my expectations. I love connecting with all the venues and talking about the great offerings my home city has to share with other families. Not only is Atlanta a fabulous travel destination, but if you live here it’s perfect for a staycation. Sometimes the extra costs of travel to a destination isn’t in the budget, and being a single income household for the last few years, I can certainly relate. We are lucky to live in such an amazing city where there is so much to see and do. If you tried to visit all of Atlanta’s family friendly attractions, you probably would have a tough time fitting them all in a single week.

Participating attractions this year included: ACVB, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta History Center, Center for Puppetry Arts, The Children’s Museum, Georgia Aquarium, Inside CNN Studio Tour, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, Stone Mountain Park, World of Coca-Cola, Zoo Atlanta so many more!

Keep an eye open for some and super fun (and fast) giveaways coming up soon for some of the local attractions. Many of the venues were generous to offer tickets so I could share them with all of you to experience what Atlanta has to offer! What a great way to kick off Spring Break 2014!
