Easy No Bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars #SundaySupper

Just like every other busy parent, I am always looking for easy things to make in the kitchen. I was so excited when I saw this week’s #SundaySupper theme – Dishes in 5 ingredients or less! This was something right up my alley! I call myself a throw together chef. I will pretty much throw anything together to make a one pot dish hoping it tastes good. Then there are the dishes that have 5 or less ingredients and you know from the start that they are going to taste amazing! Case in point…No Bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars 1

DH surprised me with these bars one evening after work. I just love when he finds new recipes to make, especially ones that are a treat and contain the ultra incredible combination of chocolate and peanut butter!

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar

Directions
1. In a medium bowl, stir together graham cracker crumbs, confectioners’ sugar, peanut butter and melted butter.
2. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan.
3. Melt chocolate chips over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring occasionally.
4. Spread melted chocolate over the crumb crust.
5. Chill for about 5 minutes, then cut into bars before the chocolate is completely set, then chill until ready to serve.

I will say, you should probably follow the directions and cut the bars before they are completely set and fully chilled. DH had them in the fridge a good few hours before cutting our pan into squares. I should have said chiseling! That crust was very hard to cut. You can kinda tell by the lack of a smooth edge in the first picture.  And the rest of them too.  🙂

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars 2

Rough edge or not, these bars were delicious! They were the perfect ratio of chocolate and peanut butter. Some think they are like a peanut butter cup, but the texture is completely different. They are definitely a cookie type bar. I liked cutting the bars into small 1 inch squares for a little bite size treat. The guys in my office sure made fast work of the container I took in for them. They were gone before lunch.

So there is my tasty treat to make with 5 ingredients or less. There are so many more fast and easy recipes from the #SundaySupper crew all featuring 5 ingredients or less as well! Take some time and check a few out. I am sure you won’t be disappointed!
