Moving back to PA has had some fun advantages lately. Kids are already back to school back in Georgia, while we are still fully immersed in Summer vacation mode. Last weekend when the Summer heat hit super high temperatures we were invited back to Dorney Park. Clambake Dinners are a Summer tradition at Dorney Park, and I was super excited to experience the celebration first hand.

We headed up to the park bright an early. I was sad there were no cabanas available to reserve, but we ended up being extremely happy with some lounge chairs in THE RETREAT. You can’t beat spending a relaxing day in the shade with a fabulous view and close access to cool off in one of Wildwater Kingdom’s two wave pools. Jumping waves is exhausting and requires a power nap.

We even spent some time playing Pokémon Go! Did you know Dorney Park has over 30 #Pokestops between the main park and Wildwater Kingdom? There are even three gyms if you feel like battling! Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom did not and does not select the location of Pokéstops and Gyms within the park. All Pokémon trademarks belong to Nintendo, but it’s definitely another fun addition to your day.

We love to spend time at the Island Water Works play area. It’s a fabulous way to stay cool in the Summer heat. The kids had a great time with their Poppy swimming in the wave pool and tubing on the Runaway River, but by 5:00 they were ready for some dinner, and I was ready for some super fresh seafood!

We headed over to Carousel Grove and check out the Dorney Park Summer Clambake festivities. Clambake dinners are offered every Saturday and Sunday until August 21st, 2016, and take place from 5pm to 8pm. You can easily purchase your park admission ticket to includes the clambake meal. Each Clambake Bag Includes: Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Corn Cobbettes, Potatoes and Sausage. Meal includes one (1) clambake bag per person* plus All You Can Eat hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, ice cream and Coca Cola Beverages. Veggie burgers are even available upon request.

The Clambake bags are offered in two varieties, New England Style and Cajun Style. I went for the classic New England and my dad tried the spicy Cajun. Both were equally delicious and there was so much food in each bag. WOW!

As an extra bonus Juniors Eat FREE! Guests ages under 48 inches tall can enter the meal without a ticket when accompanied by a regular meal ticket holder, but sadly they aren’t eligible for clambake bag, but they can enjoy the All You Can Eat portion of the menu. This option was perfect for my seven year old picky eater. He ate his fill of hot dogs and ice cream sandwiches, which was good because I wasn’t sharing any of my Clambake bag.
