New Smart Phone In The Kitchen – I’m a Verizon Ambassador #VZWA

For as long as I have had a cell phone, I have had Verizon service. I got my first cell phone in about 1993 or 1994. It wasn’t attached to a bag, and was as heavy as a small brick.

Seriously.  This was my phone.

A far cry from this awesome beauty that arrived at my door this week.

I was recently contacted by Verizon Wireless to join their Ambassador program.  I was selected to review and blog about the new DROID INCREDIBLE 4G LTE by HTC.  Over the next few months I will be sharing my experience with Verizon and the Droid Incredible.

I’m going to be honest with y’all.  You know I am completely tech challenged, but right out of the box I easily figured out how to plug in and charge the phone.  Wahoo!  OK, so I am exaggerating just a tad.  I’m not that bad.

Seriously though, without instructions I was able to set up the phone with my email, and sign into my beloved Twitter and Facebook.  I would have tried to figure out more, but I had a ornery preschooler who was ready for bed.  I did, however get a chance to reach out to fellow ambassador @Jaimme  who was awesome to drop a link for the phone’s instruction guide.  Given my tech ability I am not against reading the manual to save myself time.  I am going to put this phone to the test and see what it can really do for me.

One of the most exciting features for me to explore is the advanced 8–megapixel camera with instant activation from the lock screen.  I have been working on improving the food pictures in my recipe posts so I am interested to see the difference from my current phone.  I am always grabbing my phone to snap pictures only to have it go into lock mode.  On this phone, just a quick swipe and I am right back to the camera.  Super easy when I am trying to take pictures in stages of a recipe.  Oh, and it has a wide–angled lens that I know will be perfect for those playground shots to capture both kids at once.  Sweet!

Cell phones have come so far in record time.
I’ve owned quite a few over the past 19 years, and I can happily say the smart phones of today are so much better than my first brick.

What did your first cell phone look like?

Disclosure: I was selected to participate in the Verizon Wireless Ambassador Program. I was provided with a wireless device and three months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
