Reality check. I’ve never been a fashionista for the latest trendy styles. I am definitely more of a classic style dresser. I like to buy clothes knowing they will be able to live in my closet for more than six months. I’ve also always been extremely selective for styles that will flatter not only my size, but my shape as well. It doesn’t matter how much I like a specific piece of clothing, if it doesn’t look good on me, I don’t waste my money. A few weeks ago, I took a little excursion to explore the fabulous shops at Merchant’s Walk shopping center in Marietta. Baby and I had a fun mommy/daughter afternoon of shopping all planned, but we needed some energy. Energy, loosely translated is pizza, so we kicked off our adventure with a yummy lunch at Whole Foods before getting our shop on!
I was on the hunt for a special outfit to wear to an upcoming blogger brunch back here at the shops at Merchant’s Walk shopping center in a week. I gave Baby the task of photographer to document my search while I worked to find what would flatter my figure and personality best. It was fun spending time together just one-on-one. It’s important for me to make time and give each child my undivided attention. Plus helloooo…it’s shopping! I need to train Baby while she is young.
Baby and I giggled and fawned over jewelry, scarves and gorgeous outfits while ducking in and out of adorable shops like Collage Boutique, The Hub Boutique, and fab’rik. In Kudzu Embroidery & Gifts Baby found a super cute hot pink and black patterned backpack for herself. Merchants has a large variety of stores and I can definitely say there is a shop for everyone, including foodies. I spent enough time in The Cook’s Warehouse to know. After our shopping was done, we took a break to enjoy some frozen yogurt and pick out up a few of Gigi’s Cupcakes for the boys at home. When Mommy and Baby shop, everyone gets a treat for the day!
The following Sunday I headed back to Merchant’s Walk to meet up with my blogging friends Mommy Talk Show, Baby Shopaholic, and Uncoordinated Mommy, and Redhead Baby Mama. We all had been tasked to find outfits for our get together brunch at Seed Kitchen and Bar (@eatatseed). After arriving, we settled into our table and chatted about our families and blogs until the food started to arrive. Being bloggers, we all snapped away photographing the food before we dug in to eat. Three words…crab eggs benedict. Get yoself some.
When our leisurely brunch was over, we took a few minutes and headed outside to model our new outfits that we all purchased at shops around Merchant’s Walk. I loved the diversity and style of our group, and I can’t help but be in awe of all brains and beauty of this group photo.
And now for the best part! I get to share a piece of my awesome shopping experience with you! Thanks to the generous folks at Merchant’s Walk, I get to give away $50 American Express gift card! Easy is my style 🙂
Love this post and the photographs! It makes me want to shop and eat good food.
Cardis, hoodies, sweaters!
i’m still partial to bell bottoms 🙂
I would totally shop for myself. I need a few accessories to jazz up my fall sweaters!
I love Maxi dress of all types!!!
My absolute favorite is when flats came into style. I’m short and have always worn heels, but I started wearing flats, and won’t go back, even if they go out of style.

I suppose banana clips isn’t the best retro style, huh? I did love me some scrunch socks, though!

I love me a classic sheath dress, especially in a dark color – so slimming :+)
Honestly if I won the 50 gift card I would shop for my kids first, then my mother. Anything I wanted could wait but seeing them happy would be worth alot more!
