Coworkers sometimes ask and joke about how I manage to work, blog, bake, and still be on the go all weekend long with family activities. My single response is I love it all so it makes it easier. I am all about making memories with my family year round, but even more so at the holidays. I want the kids to enjoy life as it happens, and have fun being a kid. Don’t lose sight of little holiday pleasures, like the occasional cup of hot chocolate that is more mini marshmallows than cocoa and decorating the tree together.
Since DH and I met, we have been building a story of our life together that is shared through our Christmas tree ornaments. I try and add a few unique ornaments every year. There are ornaments from our first trip to Disney together. Ornaments capturing memories of a Key West vacation where my husband’s discovery of the beauty of salt water fish and love of snorkeling was born. The birth of our children are celebrated with multiple ornaments both gifted and purchased. And what foodie’s Christmas tree would be missing a few sweet treat ornaments. I love our tree is filled with Christmas memories of the past and present.
This year I am adding a few unique ornaments to our tree from the Personal Creations Ornament Workshop. Since we moved to the South, snow is usually not something we see anymore. I miss snow once in a while. Well, honestly, I miss the thought of snow, not actual snow, so I picked out this precious snow family for this year’s latest ornament.
I even plan to surprise my parents with a personalized ornament when they come to visit at Christmas. How sweet is this snow couple with double Xs and Os. I love it! I also like that it matched the snow family I received. Even though it will go home with my parents to Florida, we will still be connected.
I have mixed feelings about the stockings I hang each year. I get a little melancholy for the crocheted stocking my grandmother made for me. My sister and I had identical mock mary jane shoe/cream sock looking stockings. My grandmother must have gotten tired of us complaining who got which stocking because she eventually stitched our initials on the top. I still have that stocking. I treasure the memories that it holds, but I felt it was time to have a set of matching stockings for my own family. I picked out these adorable appliqued ice skate themed stockings from Personal Creations Stocking Wonderland. I love that everyone has a different character on their stocking, and of course each name embroidered to prevent any arguments on future holidays.

Very beautiful, personalized items up on that tree! We don;t put quite that much effort into the holidays here, but we enjoy each other!

I just love those personalized stocking!Last year I had to retire our cute felt stockings, they were from the Dollar Store and were very old so starting to get raggedy. I replaced them with plain red and white stockings but I miss the cute ones we ad. I just may pick up a set of the one you featured here!
I love the Nanny and Poppy ornament! Personalized ornaments aren’t something we have in our house – we need to get some, pronto! I’ll hop on over there, now!
I am just in love with your Christmas tree! Personalized ornaments really add such a loving touch. 🙂 Only a portion of my tree is decorated because my cats keep playing with the ornaments and breaking them. LOL
I like the idea of adding a new ornament every year. I’m terrible about doing things like that, but really should do better!
We have collected so many ornaments in the time my husband and I have been putting up Christmas trees together. This year, we actually skipped some of the generic ornaments because we have so many others that have much more meaning. I want to get some nice, personalized stockings for our family too!
I love when a tree tells a story with the different ornaments love it. And the kids can keep them as they grow to put on their own trees.
My husband and I used to collect ornaments from each of the places we’ve traveled together but they were increasingly harder to find in some countries (especially when shopping during the off season) so we had to abandon that tradition, unfortunately 🙁 I’m LOVING your personalized ornaments, though!
Oh I love them all! We also had hand stitched stockings that my great grandmother made for us all growing up. I really love sharing those types of memories with my kids and creating a new ones. Personalized items make it that much easier to pass down and keep as heirlooms.
I love ornaments. So much! I’ve started building a collection for my son and I hope he appreciates it as much as I do one day. 😉 My mom cross-stitched a stocking for him last night and it is AMAZING. I know he’ll love it, and I just hope that if we have another child, she’s able to create one for that child (because there will be some serious jealousy, I’m sure!)
Oh my gosh, I love it all! I think personalized ornaments are the best!

I love the stocking hangers and I love the idea of getting ornaments for special memories. I’ve made it a tradition to get my girls an ornament for their personal tree each year.
I like to choose ornaments that have special significance for me or someone in the family too. Personal Creations ornaments come in SO many styles that it’s easy to find something for everyone.
i love how trees tell our histories in so many ways. i think that’s part of why i love christmas so much- there are so many stories and memories in the traditions and decorations
What beautiful memories you have on your tree! The #PCHoliday ornaments are so very cute!
Awe! Love the ornaments, personalized ornaments are my favorite.
I love Personal Creations. We got some great decorating items from them for Halloween. The Christmas items were wonderful as well. The kids’ personalized stockings are hung on the mantle.
I love all your ornaments! It’s such a fun way to look back at previous years’ memories.
