Annual Rock ‘n Rib Fest Returns to Lawrenceville

What: 4th Annual Rock’n Rib Fest
When: Saturday, October 1, 2011
Time: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Rain or Shine)
Where: On the Square in Downtown Lawrenceville

Our family loves BBQ, so when I heard there was a local BBQ rib festival last year, we just had to go! My in-laws were in town visiting last October, so I thought it would be a fun adventure for all of us to get out and take advantage of some good ‘ol fashioned southern food and hospitality. The Rock’n Rib Fest did not disappoint.

This is the 4th year for the festival and it is a FREE event featuring a multitude of area restaurants, caterers, and vendors featuring mouth-watering BBQ ribs, sandwiches and sides. You can meander through the town square browsing assorted local vendor’s ware to the beat of the live music, or if you’re planning to bring the kids, head over to a fun children’s area with crafts and bounce houses.

Are you into competitive eating or just curious how many ribs or burgers you can wolf down in one sitting check out Dickey Doo’s Rib Eating Contest & McCray’s Tavern Burger Eating Contest but make sure you check out the Rules HERE.

Fancy a cold beverage? Hunt down the icy fresh lemonade stand or head over to the beer garden. You can bring your own blankets, chairs, etc, and if you are heading to the festival with a group of friends, you can even reserve a VIP table here.

Is running your thing? Before strapping on the rib feed bag, show up to the square bright and early to get in your exercise. You can participate in the 3rd Annual Rock ‘n Rib Run for Breast Cancer 5K where all proceeds from the 5K will benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust.

There is truly something for everyone at this family friendly festival and I hope to see you there!
