Shopping on Black Friday has been a tradition for as long as I can remember. Getting up early, sipping hot cocoa or coffee while standing in line, fighting the crowds for the gift. So, shop smart with these tips and learn How to Save More Money on Black Friday Sales!

Plan it out. A good Black Friday shopping trip starts with a good plan. Get the ads, compare prices, and make a map of which store(s) you’re going to hit and in which order.

Hop online! You won’t get the same rush as you do fighting the crowds at 3AM at Target, but shopping online has definitely improved in the past few years. Many times, you can get the same deals (or better) online!

Shop til ya drop – with coupons and codes. Never shop online without first checking for coupon codes.

Remember time is money. If you have to stand in line for 5 hours to save $25, it might not be worth it. However, standing in line for a few hours to save a few hundred? Oh yeah, sign me up! Worth it.

Keep your receipts. It’s important to keep your receipts in case you have to return or exchange an item. Prices drop after the holidays, and you’ll want to get the full amount that you paid back.

Shop with cash. Use cash unless you plan on paying your credit card balance off immediately. That way, you only have as much as you have. You can’t spend above and beyond what you actually have, because you only have cash. Be careful carrying large amounts of cash, though. You don’t want to become a target for thieves.

Go with a buddy. They can reel you in if you try to make a ridiculous purchase. Plus shopping with friends is always more fun when you stop for a coffee break or lunch.
