From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
Baby and I had a chance to check out Frankenweenie earlier this week at a sneak peek premiere. I was prepared to spend the movie reassuring my over dramatic eight year old that the movie was just that, a movie, it wasn’t real, and it’s ok for sad things to happen. Color me surprised when what we saw as story with a sad start, but plenty of excitement and laughs to offset the dark and dreary expectations. Baby and I giggled and sometimes jumped with the startling surprises the movie presented, but we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. So much so, that I was excited to discover there is a FREE ebook available for itunes. Of course I downloaded it so we could read it again together this weekend. You can download it HERE too.

well, for one, we are going to see Frankenweenie!! 🙂 we have a wiener dog, and… well, I love Tim Burton and doxies.
we are also going shopping for “Halloween stuff” for our porch – we just moved from several acres where we had ZERO trick or treaters to a new house in a neighborhood, where we know we will have some! we are actually looking forward to them, and want to make it a fun experience.
I LOVE these, and that they are mummies SO cute!!
