It seems this summer has been a whirlwind of activity and now it’s coming to an end with our move almost complete. Lately the weekends have been more about packing and the stress of moving and less about family fun time. Moving is hard yo, but no fun time is just unacceptable. To help make our (very limited) extra time more exciting for the family, I turned to Smucker’s® for a little boost in all things awesome. It’s crazy how these simple Turtle Sundaes turn our everyday family time into a #SundaeFundae with thanks to the deliciousness of Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings.
Last weekend certainly called for turtle sundaes and Kroger made things easier by providing a great assortment of Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings to help remove a little of moving stress. This is the current state of my kitchen. Can you say packing boxes upon packing boxes?
Turtle sundaes are a big hit in our house and are simple to create with Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings. Fill a small bowl with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then drizzle with chocolate Magic Shell® over the top. I love Magic Shell® magically hardens to add a little texture to the smooth ice cream. While the chocolate is still soft, drop a few of the pecans in syrup. Then swirl a little Simple Delight™ Salted Caramel over the whole sundae. Just thinking about the gooey salted caramel makes me drool.
I prefer more salted caramel on my sundaes, while my son would rather have fewer pecans and more chocolate magic shell. My daughter loved equal parts of all the toppings. Even my parents got in on the family fun making sundaes. My mom was crazy about the pecans in syrup! Every sundae was a little different, and that’s the beauty of using Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings for homemade sundaes. Every family member gets to enjoy their favorite toppings in the combination that suits their taste best.
My family enjoyed taking a break from the chaos that our move has caused this summer. It’s a good reminder to take time and celebrate being a family and before we embark on the next chapter in our live, and take the long car ride from Georgia to Pennsylvania. Sundaes don’t have to be reserved for Sundays. In fact, I can guarantee we will be making sundaes to inaugurate our new kitchen.
What is your favorite sundae? Do you have an ice cream topping you love most?
