This weeks below freezing temperatures in Atlanta have me daydreaming about the snow days of my youth in Pensylvania. I remember intently listening to the radio in the wee hours of the morning impatiently waiting to hear those glorious words that school was canceled. Memories flood my brain of Sunday brunch style breakfasts on a weekday morning and then after a hours of playing outside in the snow, coming in to steaming cups of rich, hot cocoa and freshly baked cookies. Snow days were the absolute best when I was a kid, and today I’m sharing a list of 18 Spectacular Snow Day Recipes for when it’s just too cold to go outside.

As I’ve gotten older, I don’t like to be cold, but I love when it snows. Mind you I don’t want to see my city shut down for a week again like last year’s Snowmageddon nightmare, but a day to play in the snow with my kids would be welcome anytime.
Since our winters typically more mild in the south we’re pretty lucky to have Snow Mountain in our area to get our fix of snowy playtime.
It would be seriously hard for my kids to choose between playing in the snow or making these Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treat Pops.
When a big snowstorm on the weather horizon people rush to the store to buy their bread and milk. Think how much better A snow day would be if your pantry and refrigerator were stocked to make these rice crispy treats. The Kids would love you and maybe be more easily convinced to spend some time playing wii in the agreeable to going down to the basement for a few hours to give you some peace and quiet play wii. A Mom can dream right?
