I love ice cream. It’s no secret to anyone in my family. I don’t usually buy it and keep it in the freezer because I tend to eat a bowl every night until a carton is gone. I try and teach my children moderation, so to limit my own personal temptation I regularly buy popsicles to have on hand for after dinner treats. I prefer the portion control is already in place with a popsicle. I can enjoy it without the fear of overindulging. One of my future foodie projects now that Summer is here is to try my hand at making some homemade popsicles. I have many foodie friends that create fabulous frozen treats for their blogs, I figured I would some inspiration and share some Super Cool Summertime Frozen Treat Recipe Ideas with you today.
When you live in the South, Summertime means one thing – hot weather. Weekends are spent swimming in the pool, running through sprinklers, or hiding in the air-conditioning. All of those options usually include eating frozen treats at least once in a while.
Homemade popsicles are wonderful to have on hand in the freezer, especially since you know first hand what ingredients are being added, and if you happen to sneak in a vegetable or superfood like the Blueberry Kale Pops from Oh My Veggies.com, then you are definitely winning! The slideshow above only shows 10 of my favorites, but if you head over to Foodie.com, you can view the full 14 recipes I collected.
