Years ago, when my husband and I first started dating we celebrated Valentine’s Day in the usual manner of exchanging small gifts and going out to dinner. At the time, my husband was a huge fan of ordering Chicken Parmesan whenever we were out to dinner. One particular Valentine’s Day, we planned to go to a specific restaurant based on their chicken Parmesan. Unbeknownst to us, the restaurant decided to shelve its usual menu for the sweethearts holiday. ย Long story short, my husband didn’t get to order his favorite dish, and our celebratory meal was a little disappointing. Our dinner entrees (and even desserts) were underwhelming and a bit overpriced. From that point forward, DH and I agreed future Valentine’s Day dinners should be made it home. Every year, I try and make a special dessert for us to share, and today I want to help you do the same by sharing 18 Sweet Treat Recipe Ideas for your own special Valentine.
Foodie.com make searching for sweet Valentine treats super easy. ย I have created a new collection and now I just need to narrow my choice down to the winning recipe. ย Check out my slideshow of my chosen recipes and help me decide which one I should make. I could definitely use some help.
Do you go out or stay in for Valentine’s Day?

My husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day at all actually, but that doesn’t mean I can’t make a few of these sweets ๐
YES! Say YES to the sweets! ๐
Ok, so Hubs and Red are out of town for V day, which means I’m making a pot of those white chocolate dipped marshmallows and EATING THEM ALL. I can’t WAIT! ๐ ๐
hahahahaha Lindsey! Love your marshmallow enthusiasm! I may ditch my huz and join you! Sounds too good!
I’d really like to go out, but we end up staying home because of the kids. Someone send me a babysitter. ๐ These sounds yummy!
Wow, so many delicious Valentine’s Day treats. I may have gained a few pounds just looking at these pictures! We usually stay in on Valentine’s Day, then celebrate the following weekend – much less crowded then!
We generally stay in on Valentine’s Day if it’s a weekday. If it’s a weekend, we’ll go out but I’m also fine staying home then too!
I am such a foodie too! I will have to check this site out! I love all these sweet treats!
Will you come up and make that m&m skillet cookie for me? (Please and thanks.) ๐ We rarely go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day. Several years ago, we went at around 4:30 pm to beat the rush. We were so old. I think we’ll try to go out to dinner the day after…maybe.
I want all of them! I want those chocolate peanut butter cupcakes!
I don’t celebrate the day with my husband, but these are treats that I would love to make for my kids! Especially the M&M’s skillet cookie!

Yum! Anything sweet on a stick is a fav of mine. These all look delicious.
omg look at all these amazing goodies!! How could I possibly choose one?! I’m going to make a couple for my boys ๐ Thanks!
Stay in. We don’t really like the crowds at all so it’s better to be safe and not deal with craziness and pick a different weekend to celebrate.
Wow! I do not even know where to start! They all look wonderful! My sweetie is far away right now, but can I make them for myself? I run about 75 miles a week, so I can have a few extra sweet treats on valentines day right?
Thanks for the ideas, I will feature this post on my blog in the next few days ๐
I love recipe roundup posts, so many great recipes in one place ๐ Although, that M&M Skillet Cookie looks the best. So yummy ๐
We stay in these days. Our anniversary is shortly after, so we celebrate then.
I love the white choc marshmallows! We normally stay in- with a toddler and a baby, in order for us to go out, someone (one of our parents) would miss out on their V-Day.
