Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. The leaves change, the air turns cool and Halloween is just around the corner. I have been very pleased with the weather here in Atlanta so far this year. The air conditioning has been off for over a month, and a fan brings in the cool night air when we are getting ready for bed. A few times we have even had to use the comforter to snuggle up in the AM. 🙂
This past weekend we celebrated Fall with a trip to the apple orchards in Ellijay. I bought the Groupon offer for BJ Reece’s Apple House and farm offered a few weeks ago. It was a pretty great deal. We were able to pick apples, go into a cute petting zoo area, and go on a hay ride all for one low price. The deal also included shooting apples from the apple cannon, but we skipped that due to too long of a line.
Such a nice view of the orchards and the mountains. If you look close you can see all the people hiking up the hill heading into the trees to pick apples. It was pretty crowded.
Ripe, red Rome Beauty apples ready to be picked…by US!
Lucky DH is tall. Most of the lower apples were already gone.
Crunch!
Yummy, fresh, sweet apples!
Perfect snack for our day in the sunshine.
Jed happily chomped his apple too!
We had a great day in the orchards!
It’s definitely something we will do again next year. My friend, Sue, over at Field Trips With Sue seems to go every year. I think we may have to make this a tradition too.
