As a working mom, my daily schedule can sometimes be grueling. I start my day by sitting in traffic for any hour to get to the office and I am on the go until my children are in bed. Some days are exhausting and I go to bed at the same time as my children and fall right to sleep. As a mom and wife, I often find myself putting others needs before my own. However, it’s also necessary for moms to maintain a healthy balance and carve out some personal time for themselves. Last Friday I did just that. After work I headed out to meet some girlfriends to celebrate Viva La Rita at Bahama Breeze.
When I arrived, I asked to be seated in the most fun location of the restaurant. The hostess led me to the enclosed patio that was already starting to fill with patrons for the #VivaLaRita celebration. Off to the side of the patio was a small stage with a guitarist singing fun Jimmy Buffett tunes. I loved how it gave the room a relaxing island feel, and made me really ready to order a margarita.
The server arrived and shared the four special Margaritas created for the #VivaLaRita celebration. They all feature fresh lime, lemon and crushed cane sugar fresh juice. I was excited to find out that with every purchase of one of the featured margaritas or for answering trivia questions, guests could win raffle ticket for prizes throughout the evening. I could not resist ordering the Ultimate Coronarita® made with Patron tequila, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, fresh lime, lemon, crushed cane sugar and topped with a 7 oz. Corona. Seriously. Most fun margarita ever! It was fun to see the variety of margaritas arrive to our table. They all looked amazing!
I couldn’t wait to dig in these tostones topped with chicken and cheese. Delish!
Another fun feature of the evening were the servers walking around with huge frames designed for the Viva La Rita celebration. Of course our group of social media fanatics had to have our picture taken with one of them. We shared it online to enter the Viva La Rita photo contest. Our night was full of laughter, fresh margaritas, live music, and delicious food. I was reminded how important it is for me to take time myself and enjoy being Karen, not Baby and Jed’s mom. Viva La Rita is happening now and runs through Cinco de Mayo. That means there’s plenty of time schedule a few more nights out and enjoy a few more margaritas.
