Stepping Into Gaming

After years of whining we finally got a Wii. I should probably also explain that is was me whining for the Wii, not my six year old or two year old.

My husband is not a gamer and I only play the best bingo apps on my phone, and rarely at that. Not that there is anything wrong with that…but the last video game I played was a retro Ms. Pacman machine in my girlfriend’s basement about 10 years ago. Yeah…I just dated myself. Ms. Pacman was retro 10 years ago.

Anyhoo…back to the Wii.

I thought it would be fun for the family to play now that the kids are a little older, plus I just heard they have Zumba for the Wii! Baby came home from summer camp excitedly talking about the trial Zumba class they had a few weeks ago. What better way to get us all moving a little more in the evening, especially with outside time being limited with the super high temps lately.

Then my husband tried to connect it to the TV.

Disaster.
Mild cursing.
Random tweets by me on the situation.

Then I stepped in and tried to connect it to the TV.
More random cursing.

It was like a tag team of technology torture.
I too gave up and retreated to my laptop to soothe my soul, since that was already hooked up and working fine.

DH finally went back down to the basement to again tango with the Wii.
In the end he was VICTORIOUS!

I heard his rebel cry from the basement, and I knew he had beaten the dastardly instruction manual.

There was much rejoicing….and bowling.

PSA…all little ears were banished from the basement from the start of opening the Wii box. I know my husband and I are not compatible with technology and have a tendency to let the random curseword fly in frustration.
