I can’t believe January is almost over! In another two weeks, Valentine’s Day will be here and I need to get working on a plan for the kids to have something to distribute to their classmates. Now that Baby is a little older she is very interested in making homemade valentines, so I thought this Pom Pom Monsters Kid Craft would be perfect to try on a weekend afternoon.
Materials:
Red and white yarn or pre-made small pom poms
Craft foam in Valentine’s colors
Sparkly pipe cleaners
Scissors
Hot glue gun
Small googly eyes
Instructions:
1. Make small yarn pom poms or gather up your pre-made ones. You can use the simple pom pop making tutorial to make the pom poms.
2. Cut out medium-sized hearts from the craft foam for the pom pom monsters’ feet.
3. Hot glue the pom pom monsters to their heart shaped craft foam feet.
4. Cut out two small hearts from craft foam for each pom pom monsters antennae and hot glue them to the top of 1-2 inch long pieces of sparkly pipe cleaners.
5. Hot glue the pipe cleaners to the top of the pom pom monsters’ heads.
6. Hot glue two small googly eyes to the front of each pom pom monster and you’re done.
Super cute! With a little double sided tape you can easily add your little pom pom monsters to Valentine treat bags. Or if you are looking for a non-candy Valentine this year for your kid’s classroom, you can add a little hand written tag and distribute. The kids will love creating play scenarios with their new monster friends.
How would you use these fun little Pom Pom Monsters for Valentine’s Day?

[…] I love these girls to pieces. Bottom Row: Susanna from Zealous Mom and Jennifer from Me, Myself and Jen. Top Row: Jaime from Love, Jaime, and of course me, from here #InTheKitchen. I love them even more when we host a giveaway together, and we get to give one our lucky readers a mini windfall! I’d be a terrible friend if I didn’t also offer you some ideas on how to use your new wealth. HA! Feel free to stock up on some new craft supplies and try making these Homemade Owl Gift Bags with the family, or maybe these super cute Pom Pom Monsters. […]
