Every Day I’m Shufflin’

I can happily say I am finally feeling back to my old self again. It’s been a struggle over the last two months with two major colds kicking this mommy’s arse.

Being moms, we sometimes forget that being sick will not only send your body into turmoil, but your emotions are sent reeling on a roller coaster ride of their own.  I didn’t feel like doing anything.  It was awful.

So what does celebrating feeling good call for…

A dance party!

Sunday was spent in the kitchen making some of my own favorite items, like spinach pie. Of course while cooking, I needed a little music. I turned on Baby’s pink pastel radio on the counter (usually playing Kidz Bop tunes) and immediately my energy level sky rocketed!

Apparently my kids have the same music gene I do, because they came running into the kitchen and soon we were all getting our groove on with the beats pumping. Daddy thought we were all nuts…especially me of course, belting out the chorus of whatever song happened to be playing. It was 80’s weekend so I was in luck! My brain was working some serious overtime to reproduce all those lyrics I once knew.

I’ve always loved all types of music. Sunday’s family dance party made me realized I don’t listen to enough. Life has been too busy, but it’s time to slow down and take back some moments for mom. I came up with a plan.

I have been wanting to add in some exercise into my week. I have decided I will do this with music. I have an new ipod just waiting to be loaded with a playlist. There are so many songs that give me an energized feeling I felt on Sunday. Now I need to create the list of awesomeness.

This is where y’all come in.

I know many of you have successfully incorporated time to work out during the week by running, taking Zumba classes, etc. I see the tweets and Facebook posts! I’m asking you to share your favorite workout tune!

An ipod stores a lot of music, so I will definitely be sharing your suggestions in future posts so we can all benefit.
It’s a WIN-WIN!

Now let’s get this party started!

Tell me what your favorite workout song is that makes you pump your fist and jump up and down like a cast member of Jersey Shore?
